Unemployment Not Declining

The latest jobs report puts unemployment at 9.2%, up from the last quarter.  This is not surprising given anaemic consumer spending and hence, perceptions of revenue uncertainty by companies.  We may be entering an era of structural higher unemployment as companies permanently adapt to doing more with less by down scaling, outsourcing, and employing more technology.  The long term solution is to foster more entreprenuership.  To do so, the tax burden has to decrease in order to support those who are willing to take the risks of starting businesses. Instead, talk by leaders in Congress and the White House to raise taxes on the 'wealthy (read entreprenuers)' does nothing to inspire risk taking.
